Our Story
Operation Equivalency, Inc. (OE) is a New York State accredited educational provider of adult literacy courses, workforce development, and a NYSED high school equivalency (HSE) testing site. Founded in 2013, our mission is to provide exceptional high school equivalency test readiness preparation, testing, and workforce development.
OE is strongly focused on meeting the needs of disconnected youth (ages 16 and up) and adults that have not got a high school diploma. With our professional staff of qualified instructors, advanced-degree administrative personnel, certified counselors, and a dedicated board of Directors, we are passionate about helping individuals pursue their educational and advanced career goals.
Operation Equivalency recognizes the high unemployment rates among minorities in NY. Operation Equivalency offers certifications in OSHA 30, Scaffolding 32 and flagging programs using the NYS approved course requirements. We have adopted the NCCER curriculum, which is an educational foundation created in 1996 as The National Center for Construction Education and Research. It was developed with the support of over 125 construction CEOs and various associations and academic leaders who united to revolutionize training for the construction industry. Sharing the common goal of developing a safe and productive workforce, these companies created a standardized training and credentialing program for the industry. This progressive program has evolved into curricula for over 70 craft areas and a complete series of over 70 assessments offered in over 4,000 NCCER-accredited training and assessment locations across the United States.
At OE, we understand that financial security plays a major role in building a healthy, more robust community; however, the first step is a high school diploma. Based out of East Harlem, our programs are open to New York State (NYS) residents, ages 16 and up, that lack a high school diploma and workforce training.
